Recruitment Process
EGT's recruitment process:
- EGT runs monthly intakes for new apprentices each year and undertakes specialized recruitment to respond to industry needs.

- If your initial application is accepted, EGT will invite you an aptitude test. You may then be invited for an interview.

- Should you be successful at the aptitude test stage and interview, EGT will check your references, academic records and other details and then make an offer of an apprenticeship to you.
- If you have successfully completed all stages of the process, you will be offered an employment contract, which outlines the terms of your employment, your wages and EGT’s responsibilities.
- You will then be required to attend an induction, which includes hand skills and safety training. After your induction, you will be ready for placement with host employers.
- All apprentices commence on a three month probation period and once complete, you then sign your apprenticeship agreement or employment contract. Your induction week is part of your probation period.
Some tips for applying for an apprenticeship:
- Make sure you complete all sections of your application form in full and provide as much relevant detail as possible.
- Make sure you attach all the documents required for your application such as police certificates and colour vision certificates.
- If you have completed a course or qualification, show a copy of your academic record as evidence you have done the course.
- Print neatly and remember a job application is the first impression an employer has of you.
- Attach a resume, and make sure it is up to date.
