RECRUITMENT PROCESS

EGT's recruitment process:

  • EGT runs monthly intakes for new apprentices each year and undertakes specialised recruitment to respond to industry needs.
  • To apply for a position complete our application form today. Click to download.
  • If your initial application is accepted, EGT will invite you to pre-selection testing.  You may then be invited for an interview.
  • Click below, to access our sample test questions.
  • Should you be successful at the pre-selection testing stage and interview, EGT will check your references, and other details and then may make an offer of an apprenticeship to you.
  • If you have successfully completed all stages of the process, you will be offered an employment contract, which outlines the terms of your employment, your wages and EGT’s responsibilities.
  • You will then be required to attend the EGT Induction, which includes safety training and handskills. After your induction, you will be ready for placement with Host Employers.
  • All apprentices commence on a three month probation period.  Your induction week is part of your probation period.

Some tips for applying for an Apprenticeship:

  • Make sure you complete all sections of your application form in full and provide as much relevant details as possible.
  • Make sure you attach all the documents required for your application such as National Police Certificates and colour vision test, licences etc.
  • If you have completed a course or qualification, show a copy of your academic record as evidence you have done the course.
  • Attach a resume, and make sure it is up to date.
  • Print neatly and remember a job application is the first impression an employer has of you.
